world karaoke championship 2008 The world`s best karaoke-performers since 2003! Karaoke on the world championship level differs greatly from the general pub karaoke known to all. The talent shown by the top singers can easily be compared to the world's greatest performers. The sixth annual KWC event, which stands for Karaoke World Championships, will be produced in collaboration with KWC Organization, Eastway and Lahden Messut. KWC has achieved fame as the world's largest and most prestigious karaoke event in the world, gathering music lovers all in one place. This year's championships will combine participants from twenty different countries or more. In 2007, KWC was held in the tropical atmosphere of Bangkok, Thailand. For the next three years, 2008-2010, the event will be held in Lahti, Finland. Energetic and varied performances! Over the years, the Karaoke World Championships has offered performances ranging from energetic rock lyrics through to heart-breaking ballads. Because of the wide and varied scale of performances, one thing is guaranteed when it comes to the Karaoke World Championships - it only gets better every year! Take a closer look at the KWC event by checking our website at http://www.kwc.fi Thursday 23rd of October 2008 Thursday is a day for celebration as the grand opening of the Karaoke World Championships 2008. The opening ceremony will feature greetings from the city of Lahti, the Finnish Goverment with the official opening by the Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Hitoshi Honda. The evening's events will feature unforgettable performances from last year's champions and the brightest stars of Finnish entertainment. Friday 24th of October 2008 The game is on! All competitors will perform two songs of their own choice over two rounds. While the judges deliberate, the Scandinavian Hunks Show and Frederik will take to the stage to entertain the crowd before the announcement of the lucky finalists who will continue on to the third round on Saturday. Saturday 25th of October 2008 The elimination rounds continue until the five best women and five best men are left standing. From these ten singers, two will be chosen as the new Karaoke World Champions for 2008. Celebrations will include an extraordinary indoor fireworks display and rock band, 'Popeda' rocks the stage.
